This online program is designed for students, both full and part-time, who desire to specialize in the insurance field, as well as for currently employed insurance professionals seeking to increase knowledge and opportunities.

Successful graduates of the program are able to:
  • Use terminology common to the insurance environment for effective communication
  • Demonstrate skills necessary to employ resources and tools commonly used in the insurance profession
  • Determine and develop personal qualities needed to function effectively with individuals and organizations in business
  • Apply effective principles of supervision in performing first-level management duties in insurance operations
  • Analyze/resolve problems common to entry-level insurance positions
Students may apply the courses needed for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) / Accredited Customer Service Representative (ACSR) designations from IIABNJ and the American Institute for Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters.  Admission to the program requires a high school diploma or its equivalent.

Why are programs like these so important to our industry?
Think about the best people in your office. Now imagine they’re gone. How will you replace them? Where will you recruit educated young agents, CSRs, and managers.

This is a serious question that all insurance industry owners and executives need to address. There is a shortage of new talent in the field, a scarcity of bright young men and women to lead businesses through the next three or four decades. Boomers are retiring and Gen Xers are aging. Individuals of the Millennial Generation are needed to help revitalize the industry and serve insurance consumers. However, it is the job of current industry professionals to help encourage them into the industry and compete for talented individuals available in today's marketplace. It is the responsibility of IIABNJ and independent agents to demonstrate the vast opportunities, and range of skill sets, that exist for young professionals in the insurance industry.
