Industry Relations

IIABO would like to thank the companies that support us through Associate MembershipsAllied Memberships, being a sponsor or exhibitor at our Annual Conference, or  advertising in our quarterly magazine, Oregon Agent.

Insurance companies, finance companies, technology vendors and other companies who do business with independent agents and brokers can increase their visability with them by becoming an associate membership, being a sponsor or exhibitor at our Annual Conference, or advertising in our quarterly magazine, Big I Washington.

IIABA publishes legal briefs on current regulatory issues (broker disclosure, fair credit reporting act, HIPAA Privacy Regs, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, etc.) and over 100 company/agent contract reviews. You can access these resources by clicking here (you need to login with your member login and password. If you do not know it, contact Barb Demings).

The Big I meets locally in Washington state and also with national carriers to discuss agent-company relations and reinforce the value that agents bring to the insurance transaction. Recommendations are made to companies regarding changes that will foster more positive agent-company relations and more productive transactions.

The Big I works closes with insurance companies to help them write contracts that are agent-friendly in areas such as indemnification, ownership of expirations, termination, etc.
