The Agribusiness Conference is designed around the Agribusiness and Farm Specialist (AFIS) designation.

AFIS is North America's insurance designation that concentrates on farm and agribusiness insurance risks.

The nation’s leading agribusiness/farm insurers will have display tables during the conference. Participants are encouraged to visit these tables to learn about the latest insurance programs, obtain information, and meet with company reps.

AFIS - Agribusiness and Farm Insurance Specialist

 

IIAV has partnered with Insurance Skills Center to hold the nation’s largest two-day insurance conference for continuing education credits focusing on Farm and Agribusiness Insurance Risks. The Agribusiness Conference is designed for insurance professionals who want specialized training in basic farm coverages to niche agribusiness risks. The conference is unique because it affords participants the opportunity to obtain insurance education on farm/agribusiness risks and to earn the AFIS (Agribusiness and Farm Insurance Specialist) designation.


How to Earn the AFIS designation:

- There are three parts to the designation on various farm related topics, which can be taken in
any order. Each part is taught at a two-day Agribusiness Conference.

- An exam is given at the end of day two for each part.

After successful completion of all three parts (exams), participants will earn the AFIS designation.
-
New participants can begin AFIS with any part.
-
Participants have five years to attend all three AFIS tracks and sit for the exams

- These sessions are designed to provide Advanced & Specific Information on Specialized Risks.

Individuals can choose to attend either an AFIS Part or Breakout Session.
- Breakout Sessions are offered concurrently and each session is about 2 hours.
- Breakout Sessions are made available to AFIS designees to update their designation & learn
about their industry.

 The Agribusiness Conference is designed for broker/agents, CSRs, and company representatives who want specialized training in basic farm coverages to niche agribusiness risks.  The Agribusiness Conference is unique because it affords participants the opportunity to obtain insurance education on farm and agribusiness risks and to earn the AFIS (Agribusiness and Farm Insurance Specialist) designation.

 

 


 

The Agribusiness Conference attracts more than 500 brokers, agents and company underwriters from 30 states and Canada.  

Participants may attend the Agribusiness Conference for any of the following reasons: learn about farm risks and insurance, earn CE Credits, network with company reps, and/or work towards earning the AFIS Designation. CE Credits are earned by attendance.  The exam is only mandatory for pursuit of the AFIS Designation and is administered on day two.  

The Agribusiness Conference registration includes a hosted reception, two light continental breakfasts, and two luncheons.  The Agribusiness Conference will be instructed by the nation’s top industry experts.

The Agribusiness Conference is filed for CE in more than 30 states.
